If I decide to have my Syringoma surgically excised, will I need anaesthetic?

Some new surgical lasers operate at particular wavelengths which do not transfer enough heat to the surrounding healthy skin to cause severe pain during the cosmetic treatment.

However, with most conventional cosmetic lasers, electrofulguration equipment, excision using a scalpel the pain caused during Syringoma excision/removal could be so severe that local or topical anaesthetic becomes strictly necessary.

Generally when removing syringomas by using cosmetic peels or cryotherapy the use of numbing creams or topical anaesthetics are not required because these procedures can cause some discomfort but they are not generally painful as such.
