I have experienced swelling 2 to 3 days after treatment is that normal?

Swelling is normal after removal by using:

  • TCA ( swelling may not develop with other types of cosmetic peels)
  • Laser removal, because the lesions have been burned off and swelling is a normal reaction after the use of this type of cosmetic equipment.
  • Electro fulguration/electro dessication because the lesions have been burned off and swelling is a normal reaction after the use of this type of cosmetic equipment.

This type of swelling (after the use of TCA or cosmetis superficial burn) normally starts developing the day following the cosmetic treatment and peaks on the second day. The swelling lasts only three to four days and will subside by itself. Generally no swelling will develop after other types of cosmetic treatments for Syringoma removal.

In very rare cases swelling develops after the use of cosmetic peels due to simple allergic reaction. These allergic reactions normally last three to 4 days and go away by themselves, if you are unsure consult your doctor.
